Late Filing Notices

Late Filing Notices

Didn't find your answer?

Anybody experiencing a larger than normal Penalty Notices for Late Filing?

Even when the tax returns were filed electronically AND received the standard email response AND the IRmark response from their web site.

The standard answer from customer service is as follows:

1 - put it in writing
2 - send a copy of the electronic IRmark receipt
3 - follow up again if notices keep being mailed

They even have a button to press so that Late Penalty Notice calls can be re-directed.

Are we in "melt-down" mode again?

Yeah, But!
Not the same problem, but still getting Penalty Notices on clients 'SECOND' UTR'S!!!!!!!

Despite yearly confirmation that the other UTR, opened in error, (which we are told is an imposibility anyway) will be closed, nothing happens!!

Non Living
I had not heard from a client for a number of years. But I still was not pleased to receive a copy penalty notice for the client. Why? Because he was had die in a RTA around June 06. The notice was addressed as "Mr Smith D'ced"

What a callous and cold-hearted bunch the Revenue are!!?

2nd UTR - Me Too!
Several times HMRC have said they would delete duplicate record but it doesn't happen. So yet another penalty notice issued. How inefficient. I'm tired of public organisations wasting money.

and those who have gone back home to Oz
My client went back to Australia nearly 3 years ago - only came here for 3 years, submitted the correct forms to say he was going home but we STILL got another penalty this year despite my letters last year.
