My client, who runs a farm, livery and equestrian business, has incurred excessive legal fees for this year. He wants to convert two agricultural properties to part-rental, canteen for the equestrian business and extension of the equestrian.
His legal fees have escalated as a neighbour has objected to the change of use. There have a number of court cases.
I understand that very generally speaking legal fees relating to the setting of the trade are disallowable where fees relating to the trade are allowable.
I am just wondering if the legal fees mentioned would be mainly allowable or mainly disallowable.
