On line agent authorisation

On line agent authorisation

Didn't find your answer?

Does anyone know of any problems with online agent authorisation? I have 4 clients awaiting their pin codes. I have reqested them three times now the first two times the codes expired but never arrived. On advice from the HMRC helpdesk I requested them again on the 19th August and was told to wait 7 days and ring again if they hadn't arrived as they believed there had been problems but these had been corrected. Still nothing has arrived at my clients. I've checked the addresses the pin codes are going to are correct, the helpdesk isn't aware of any problems and they suggest that the letters are being delayed (3 months) or lost in the post. This could be plausible once or twice but not every letter and they are being delivered in different towns. The helpdesk said they can't investigate this further for me.

As a last resort does anyone know how long the manual system is taking?

authorisation
I've had problems with both.

I tend to send 64-8s to the CAAT and cross my fingers. It doesn't seem to take too long (2 weeks?) but you never know.

My experience with the online service has been about 50/50.

I have had problems - particularly with PAYE, but recently I thought things were a bit better - touch wood....

I don't believe it is all down to the post either - well not the Royal Mail, could be a problem with getting it IN the post their end in my view.
