on line filing of accounts

on line filing of accounts

Didn't find your answer?

Just wondered how many people were filing abbreviated accounts on line rather than sending them in the post to Companies House ? Does anyone worry about what the accounts actually look like presentation wise, as long as the figures are correct ? The reason for the question is the accounting software we use puts lots of random gaps, totals figures on the balance sheet in the wrong place and over discloses information for example authorised share capital. Just wondered if this was the norm ?

Filing accounts online

I produce accounts using VT software in the normal way and transcribe the abbreviated accounts onto the Companies House template, which isn't very pretty but is the same for everyone. This takes about 5-10 mins.

Template used

I do the same but use Digita for the accounts production. I had a problem, which Companies House support recognised, in that cut and pasted text from Word into the template corrupts it. So now I type directly into the template. It takes 10 mins. Clients want the minimum amount of information in the public domain and the template provides this.

I use it but sometimes it drives me mad.

On ocassions it seems to take a very long time to do a simple job.

I hope the system is improved asap.
