Having successfully carried out a contract for a large client for over 5 years we have suddenly lost the contract. A 'new man' comes in and suddenly decides we need to tender for the contract (we had never tendered for it in the first place 5 years ago), he spends months manipulating us saying our price is too low (we needed to pay our employees more ). He promises us our contract is 'in the bag' as we've done such a grand job for years and that he had asked 2 other companies to tender just as a formality (national companies which he claimed he disliked immensely). It was quite exciting that we could actual give our employees quite a substantial payrise. Surprise came in letter form stating sorry you've been unsuccessful and now the contract has been handed to another company and basically we loose all our men through TUPE. This is the condensed version obviously but basically we feel foul play is the key word here as we never intended to raise our prices but for his insistance.
