Managed websites

Managed websites

Didn't find your answer?

I'm looking into getting a website set up for our firm. I was thinking about one which automatically gets news updates, budget updates, useful forms, etc. The firm I'm now working for does not have anything at the moment and I am not a computer expert myself!
Has anyone got any advice or quotes.

Managed websites
My firm www.morrisowen.com use PracticeWeb (www.practiceweb.co.uk) to provide the platform and content for our firms website.

I've spent considerable time looking at all the providers in the market place, and non match PracticeWeb in terms of content, updates, flexibility and overall service provision (both to you as their client and to your clients in terms of the resources they provide them).

Not only do you get a site which you can update yourself, it is updated daily on your behalf, there is a automated e-marketing function and all the off line resources that are typically found in a firm such as budget reports, tax data cards and client fact sheets, are all included on the site and more importantly automatically updated for you to reflect changes in legislation.

As well as all this there are optional "Client Only Areas" and a "Secure Document Exchange" which allow more frequent, focussed and secure communications with your clients.

If you would like to give me ring I'd be happy to elaborate further 01793 603900.

totalSolution
You might also want to look at totalSOLUTION - a joint venture between Mercia Group and a web-design company called AccSys.

They do all of the content elements you're after, and they specialise in sites for practices.

re managed web sites
I m in a similar situation - was looking for a web site that looks good and where I dont have to do a load of work updating it. After a good look around I went with Practicetrack. I buy budget brochures from them which are pretyy good and their web sites seem to have as much content as any others plus nice design that doesn't look the same as all the others. £95 a month and they don't sting you with a design fee - so v competitive on price

Try 64-8
I would also recommend you try 64-8. The webmaster is indeed exceptionally quick at setting it up and then making changes as required. I understand the comment about them all looking the same, but they did quite a lot of tailoring and editing it for us, took lots of pages out and put lots of new pages in, so we've ended up with quite a unique front page and a completely re-written "about us" section, but with the underlying factsheets, rates, links etc largely unchanged. Our website is primarily for keeping existing clients up to date, so we don't have to pay extra for factsheets, budget summaries, tax rate cards, newsletters, etc as all that is included in the monthly price. I would certainly recommend you talk to 64-8 to discuss the options for a personalised "front end" if you don't like the standard formats.

Practiceweb are extremely good
I think you get what you pay for, and for my money Practiceweb are excellent. I looked at all the options and was very comfortable with their approach.

I moved (from a cheaper option!) on the basis of the support (like the free training sessions) and advice I could receive, as well as a completely unique design and structure, and have been very pleased.

Some of the content appears to be similar from option to option but when you actually look at it the approach is very different.

http://www.practiceweb.co.uk worth investigating.

64-8
I definately recommend 64-8. Since changing to them six months ago I have had lots of hits and enquiries. The site is really comprehensive and professional looking. The content is superb and the webmaster is very quick at making changes if needed.

Potential clients have to sign up for free reports and downloads so you can build up a database of them.

Yes, I did look at 64-8. they seem ok as a cheap solution, but the web sites did look a bit samey and old fashioned for me.

About 64-8
A quick post to say that 64-8 has become Accountant Websmiths.

All our sites are now bespoke designed for the client and that we also have added some great new tools for accountants - email platform, content management system, secure document exchange platform, and many more - all inclusive in the website package.

Kind Regards,
