I'm looking into getting a website set up for our firm. I was thinking about one which automatically gets news updates, budget updates, useful forms, etc. The firm I'm now working for does not have anything at the moment and I am not a computer expert myself!
Has anyone got any advice or quotes.

a very small one off fee with no strings attached see nimbyarch.
check out

which shows samples of accountants websites which may prove useful to you.
totalSolution
You might also want to look at totalSOLUTION - a joint venture between Mercia Group and a web-design company called AccSys.

They do all of the content elements you're after, and they specialise in sites for practices.
Try 64-8
I would also recommend you try 64-8. The webmaster is indeed exceptionally quick at setting it up and then making changes as required. I understand the comment about them all looking the same, but they did quite a lot of tailoring and editing it for us, took lots of pages out and put lots of new pages in, so we've ended up with quite a unique front page and a completely re-written "about us" section, but with the underlying factsheets, rates, links etc largely unchanged. Our website is primarily for keeping existing clients up to date, so we don't have to pay extra for factsheets, budget summaries, tax rate cards, newsletters, etc as all that is included in the monthly price. I would certainly recommend you talk to 64-8 to discuss the options for a personalised "front end" if you don't like the standard formats.
64-8
I definately recommend 64-8. Since changing to them six months ago I have had lots of hits and enquiries. The site is really comprehensive and professional looking. The content is superb and the webmaster is very quick at making changes if needed.
Potential clients have to sign up for free reports and downloads so you can build up a database of them.
