Management Information Systems - Intangible ? Tax Relief ?

Management Information Systems - Intangible ?...

Didn't find your answer?

We have a client who has purchased a bespoke management information system, for a significant cost, to aid the business going forward. My initial thoughts on this are that it should be classified as an intangible asset in the accounts and should gain tax relief over the same period as we amortise. However the guidance in this area in both accounting and tax terms appears to be very much down to interpretation of the rules. Has anyone had a similar situation or got any comments on how this should be dealt with ?
