Mobile phone seller - suitable accounting package?

Mobile phone seller - suitable accounting package?

Didn't find your answer?

The company sells mobile phones to businesses (not to the general public) and is currently operating a manual system to fulfil orders (ie writing in barcode numbers etc on forms for sending to the networks), reconcile the income from the networks and document the sales and purchases made.

The accountants currently perform the financial accounts and payroll - ideally the payroll would be brought in house and the accountants' involvement in the preparation of financial accounts reduced (by the data held being of better quality).

Thoughts so far:
Something Sagey (or even Sage itself of course) would be ideal;
Must be able to extract management accounts quickly or immediately (including sales by salesperson, profitability by sales person etc)- report writing capability would be good too;
Barcode input of various serial numbers, IMEI numbers etc is high on the "wish list";
Stock is very fast moving (as it is bought in once orders are taken) but may be large enough to warrant its own offsite storage.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Serial Numbers
Hi Nick

Serial Numbers will be your issue. Presumably as a minimum you have an International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number, serial number for the phone, SIM and phone number?

Line 50 doesnt record them. Line 100 used to but I'm not sure they're available in MMS yet? Maybe Andrew can enlighten us. In any case if it's like Line 100 then it probably wont cope with your serial requirements.

We have implemented Access Accounts in to a company that provide satellite phones. I'm sure they'd be deligthed to act as a reference for Access Accounts.

We provide Access Accounts nationwide through our branches, so please feel free to contact me if you would like further information.
