Monthly management report pack - what should it include?

Monthly management report pack - what should it...

Didn't find your answer?

HI, what do members in practice include in the monthly management accounting pack for their clients? I have an endless list and would like to narrow it down a bit.

KPIs?
How about adding some extra value by including some Key Performance Indicators as well? They can be anything that the client and you believe are sales/cost/cash drivers in the business.

Traditional management accounts tend to be great at measuring what happened in the past but not so good at telling the client why what happened happened, and, most importantly, what he can do about it in the future.

In my experience, making the management accounts actually useful and meaningful to clients a) differentiates us and b) often leads onto additional consulting-type work .

monthly pack
I provide:

Detailed P&L since "the devil is in the detail"

Balance Sheet

Trade debtors listing from the accounts package eg Sage Line 50
Breakdown of Other debtors eg prepayments and sundry debtors if very active accounts

bank reconciliation

Trade creditors again from the accounts pack
breakdown of accruals and other creditors again if, very active

Regards
