New 64-8

New 64-8

Didn't find your answer?

How is the easiest way to complete the new 64-8 forms on a PC?

Do I need to buy Adobe Acrobat (rather than just use the free copy for reading documents etc)?

With the old version
I copied it into Word then worked out where the various boxes fell on the page and created clear text boxes in Word in the relevant spaces.

It is a bit of a fag getting everything lined up, but you can get the text boxes to flow between each other so that things like addresses and NI No's roll throught the text boxes for the particular section as you type.

Once you have it set you can actually delete the copy 64-8 that you dropped into word and just fill in the text boxes that you created in the word document and then print it over the top of an original 64-8

Or you could try HotDocs, which certainly used to do much the same for you for a large range of forms - though I am not sure whether they up to date with the latest 64-8

It used to be available in a free version, but that seems not to be the case now.

Neil
I fear the quill is here to stay, for a little while yet. I would be happy to be corrected but I think that the online agent authorisation fails if the taxpayer has not been issued with a UTR (or more rarely someone without an NI number), does not provide VAT authority, and is ill equipped to deal with authorising agents for tax credit purposes in the event of a joint claim.

Not sure what the position is for stamp taxes. We haven't enrolled for the stamp duty part so possibly the option to tick that box becomes available if you do (it is not available online if you do not), but then the stamp taxes option is not available on the paper one either. Hey ho.

With the old version .....
With the old version you could just use a PDF X64-8.PDF from the employer's CD-ROM & fill it in on screen using Adobe Reader. Haven't seen the new 64-8 yet however hopefully there will be an X version available on the next employer's CD-ROM.
