One of our clients has been considering upgrading to the new version of Line 100, which has either just been released or is due out very soon. I understand that this is supposed to be compatible with XP but have heard that there may be problems with this in practice, particularly with regard to stock control/job processing systems. Can anyone tell me whether the two do really work together?
I am an accountant, not an IT expert, so please do go easy with any jargon!
Many thanks for any assistance.

Sage & XP
Hi, the best way to find out is to ask your sage distributor for a reference site, then go and have a look. I have found that unless you see the software in action and try and match it to your specific need you will never find an accurate answer.

Keeping it simple
Hi Susan
The software is written using 32bit applications but the database is still Dos based, I dont know for sure but this may have an implication, maybe someone else could comment on that?
One thing I can say for sure however is you need to be absolutely sure your client's network is up to the job. Sage recommend a minimum Pentium 3 650Mhz, and make sure you have lots of memory in each workstation. AT LEAST 256Mb but if you can 512Mb.
Hope this helps.
