The next step.................

Hi all,

After qualifying in practice and hanging around for a few years, I made the jump into industry.  A couple of years down the line and I'm starting to think whether practice is where my future lies (I recently passed the ATT exams which is also a factor)

I always enjoyed preparing accounts, tax comps etc and feel my career is now travelling down a road, further and further away from what is both my comfort zone and what i enjoy.

My currrent role has a significantly higher salary (£15-£20k pa more) than I could get returning to practice (which after a 4 years of having, would be difficult to give up)

Have any other people made the move back to practice?  Any advice on negotiating with firms to ensure there can be progression (stuck at manager level reviewing isnt what i have in mind)

I just feel ive hit a crossroads and wanted to hear from people who have perhaps been there before.

Any advice much appreciated!!
