Online Diary System

Online Diary System

Didn't find your answer?

we are setting up a "virtual office" network and our staff need to have diaries organised centrally. Anyone know of an online diary system that can be used to manage, say, four to six schedules.

You need Exchange Server to use Outlook
There is an online system at www.anserve.co.uk. Why not try it?

virtual solution
Your "virtual office" implies your users are not in the same site so you will need a hosted application. There are various organisations which provide this service - some in conjunction with Outlook.
Let me know if you need more info.

You can do it without Exchange !
Alan,

This is what we do. We don't use Exchange (too expensive and too clumbersome). We don't use Outlook (too limited and too prone to viruses)....but we all log in from home or offices and run our office - diaires, emails, time&billing, accounting, fax, etc, etc.....all via Terminal Services....

I've written messages before about our solution, so it should be here somewhere. Contact us

Kind Regards

Excel
Our secretary had to do a similar job recently for the 7 key managers and directors. The easiest way we could find for it was to set up Excel spreadsheets, one sheet per month, one column per manager, and each row representing 15 minutes of the day. When an appointmemt is made, the appropriate managers cells are coloured in and a comment added.

The difference perhaps between what you are looking for, is that this is maintained centrally (technophobic directors) and the directors simply have network access to view the diary. Any changes are made by the secretary, but I'm sure a virtual office solution could be found whereby the diary was updated by one person and emailed out on a regular basis.

Yes
How about MS Outlook?

There are lots of others, but depending on the bundled software on your PCs you may have Outlook for free.

Web-based Intranet - £400 pa!
For a web-based solution that provides personal and group diaries as well as Intranet collaboration tools for knowledge and file-sharing, as well as instant chat with other group members look at http://www.ramius.net/index.cfm

You'll find it hard to beat for features and value, especially if you are a virtual group.

High-feature choices
You might also want to look at Salesforce.com and Portera. These provide a raft of useful features for organising virtual sales teams and professional service teams respectively. Neither is budget priced, but both might fill other gaps in your requirements.
