Online Filing Incentives

Online Filing Incentives

Didn't find your answer?

We've finally started to receive notifications that our clients are entitled to the £250 online filing incentives. We are getting notifications via email that there is a message at the Government Gateway
And the message seems to be the official notification. This is despite the guidance saying that a letter would be sent and the fact that we have opted not to receive notifications through the Gateway. They are addressed to the company at the company's trading address. Leaving aside the problems of the Collector having loads of incorrect addresses, I have found a number of problems.

1. As usual following the link in the email to the Government Gateway doesn't lead to the message. After logging into the Gateway, you are again informed you have a message and to click here. A list of the messages is displayed and clicking on this leads to the Inland Revenue Site where you have to log in again and then click PAYE for employers, then view messages, then finally you are allowed to view the message.
2. When printing the message I have found no way to print the entire message. The right hand side is missing on the printed version!
3. We have already received 3 duplicate notifications for the same client with different dates.
4. All our notifications so far are from Shipley.
5. The message says that you can either deduct the £250 from the next PAYE payment or they can send a cheque for the full amount. If you would like a cheque you have to contact the Accounts Office. I have spoken to the accounts office and they do not need this request in writing and will deal with it over the phone!! However they are asking agents who have a large number of request to fax the in (Shipley's fax is 01274 539651)
6. Worryingly we have received one notification in respect of a dormant company where there were no employees who had to be declared on the P35 (no employees were paid at all). The P35 was nil throughout and we think that the client is not entitled to the incentive! If they take the incentive then presumably the dormant status will be removed, and do we have money laundering considerations?

All in all this has been a bit of a nightmare and taken far too long to sort out.

Change Print setup
With regard to losing part of the message on printing - try going to File, Print setup & change the orientation from portrait to landscape - if you then print you should find that you get the full message printed

Same thing here
We've had the same thing
a) duplicate notices informing us of the £250 credit
b) notices regarding credit for a dormant company...

One thing, tho, I ignore the advice from the email as to where to collect the email from and go directly to:
IR Agent log-in

Log in there with identifier etc, select PAYE from the menu and view all client notices on the top right hand side. This will give you all the emails, for all clients and not just the one that you've just received notification of.
