Outlook
I dont use outlook myself (mozilla user) , but something that works on outlook express is click on tools -> options which brings up a big tabbed list, click on the maintenance tab.

One of the options in here is to change the folder used by outlook for storing emails etc

so click the 'store folder' button , then make a note of the folder name that is shown. Close down outlook and just copy the whole folder to the new PC. Go into the same page on the new PC and you can see where it expects its emails to be. copy them to that location and start outlook.

I cannot say for certain that it will work across different versions but It always has for me when going to a newer PC.

How to move emails in Outlook
The export routine should work as follows:

On the first PC, choose File/Import and Export/Export to a File. Choose the file type Personal Folder File (.pst), then select the folders you wish to copy (you can select the whole mailbox, or just specific folders such as Inbox and Sent Items).
This will copy the data to a file. You then need to make this file available on teh second PC (copy it across a network or onto a CD).
On your second PC, chose File/Import and Export/Import from another file or program. Choose Personal Folder File (.pst) as the file type, select the file created above and then it will complete the import.

Hope this helps,
