Outlook Express 6 message store folder

Outlook Express 6 message store folder

Didn't find your answer?

I use Outlook Express 6 in windows xp. I can change the message store folder by going to TOOLS, then OPTIONS, then MAINTENANCE, then STORE FOLDER. This brings up a small window showing the folder where the messages are stored. To change this you click CHANGE, a browse window appears and you browse to the folder you want, the click OK several times. This changes the location of the store folder.

My problem is that I want to use a network folder on a peer to peer network. The folder has read and write privledges, but Outlook Express does not change the store folder location. It appears to change the folder but if you close down Outlook Express and restart it (as instructed by the programme) and check the folder location the old folder remains.

How do I get Outlook Express to accept a network folder as the store folder?

Changing the store folder on Outlook Express 6 to a network folder cannot be done. I don't know why, but it cannot be done. I will change to using thunderbird.
