I'm a bit paranoid about a virus getting past Norton and sending some confidential email to everyone! Therefore I tend not to keep contact lists on Outlook Express.
However I would like to send email newsletters (using blind forward - Bcc).
Can I compile an email contacts list in Excel and import it for this purpose, and if so how?
This method would be good because the Iris software keeps a record of email addresses but doesn't facilitate a 'mass' email run. It does, however, facilitate export of the list to Excel.

Email lists
I have recently done exactly what you require. Save the email addresses in a column (say A) in excel and in one field (say B1) put a semi-colon. In column C type in the following: =concatenate(A1,$B$1) and you will end up with the email address with a ; after it. Copy the formula (by dragging the cell down) for the rest of the email addreses in column A and all will end up with a ; after them. Copy and 'paste special' all the addresses in column C and using copy 'values' option. Copy the column C to a new spreadsheet and save as a text file. Copy the contents of the text file into the BCC option in outlook. The BCC address box will take a finite number of characters so beware of the amount you put in.

You might like to try Gammadyne Mailer, a relatively cheap and very effective mass mailing program.

You can keep your contacts list in a simple text file or any ODBC source (Excel, Access, etc.)
