P11d completion queries

P11d completion queries

Didn't find your answer?

Firstly a director with his own company uses the company credit card to take a salesman from a supplier out to lunch. It is wholly for business relationship purposes.

Does this still have to go on P11d in Box N 'Cost to you' with nothing showing in 'amount made good etc'. Then the director makes the claim himself on his ITR?
(Just needed to check as it seems a bit pointless)

Secondly in 2005/2006 the directors wife had a company mobile. She does not really have much business usage. Is it taxable on the director in 2006/2007 if it is only replaced?

Thank you for any help given
david

Yes and yes
On both accounts you are correct.

The co credit card goes on P11D then a claim on ITR that not taxable. (and yes it is pointless but them the rules)

Even though the mobile phone rules changed with regards to phones for family members any mobiles in place as at 6/4/06 will remain exempt unless replaced.
So no benefit for now.

mad?
y would you take the salesman of a supplier out to lunch. i think it's your judgement that's out to lunch.
next time tell him to pay or not get the order, then you have no p11d issues.....

or of course be implausibly ethical and don't have lunch at all
