P11D due when company dissolved?

P11D due when company dissolved?

Didn't find your answer?

Company ceased to trade 31.8.08 and was dissolved on 1.5.09

P11Ds for 2008/09 have not been done. There was a company car until 31.8.08 and so this would have given rise to a Class 1A NIC liability.

Should I file the P11D and get the ex-director to pay the NIC? Or shall I just declare the BIK on the Tax Return and forget about the NIC, given that the company legally no longer exists?

Depends on who....?
wound up the company I would say.

If a third party eg a Receiver handled things then let him/her deal with the p11d etc. I would suggest limiting your involvement to sending on any HMRC correspondence to them.

If, you handled matters then I think for completeness of task you should prepare and submit let HMRC pursue ex - director for any monies owing.
