P11D Processing

Am I the only one to be astounded that HMRC has announced, on 12 November, that it has started processing P11Ds? This some 4 months after the deadline in July for their submission.

On a more cynical level - I assume they are referring to the 2009/10 forms P11D and not an earlier year!!?
