PAYE-Master Support costs

PAYE-Master Support costs

Didn't find your answer?

I have just received my invitation to renew my support contract for PAYE-Master, current expiry date 2nd June 2002. The price I am being asked to pay is £199.98, whereas last year I paid £87.95 (all including VAT).

Is this some sort of rip-off and, apart from ceasing to use the product which I am loathe to do, is there anything that can be done? I assume all users have been charged the increased price in a similar way. How about a mass 'strike'?

are you using one company or bureau
The bureau licence increased to £199 or so but the standard one user price increased to only £109.99 per annum. - not bad really...

Plus consider that prices hadn't increased in 15 years!!!

Moneysoft v Freeway PAYE-Master
I stopped using Freeway years agao when the price of the suport contract was more than buying a new version of the product!
I went with Moneysoft Dos prog last year and now they have brought out the Windows version, I think it does everything I want it to, including Contracts of Employment for staff If a bureau, just think of how much you could charge as a fee for doing that for employers!) This fac. available only in the bureau version which can also take care of Tax Credits, CIS25 deductions and use up all your old stationery from Sage and Freeway if you still want to keep the similarity and staff happy!
Certainly worth the annual licence money, IMHO.

agreed
I agree.
We have been using freeway for years, but this seemed a massive hike in fees.
We are certainly going to look around for another product.
The price is still not too bad really, but what really annoyed us was the Freeway attitude of "you will only be allowed to use this product by paying double last years fee".
There are some un-ethical software work arounds but I couldn't possibly recommend their use!

IRIS.....
Freeway, that friendly company, with a great product, got bought out by IRIS so it was inevitable that the price would go up.

There are alternatives, but the time taken to learn yet another package makes it easier to stay with what you know.

That said, I bet the price will continue to rise year on year until it reaches the level of other IRIS offerings.
