PAYE Notice of Coding

PAYE Notice of Coding

Didn't find your answer?

We opted to receive NPAYE Notice of Coding electronically. We have not received any ELECTRONICALLY. for 2006/07. Its Month 3 now; We are concerned that the later we receive them, there will be a higer tax payable (those clients who need to pay higher tax, collected via paye CODE)on the month the new Tax Codes are operated.

I was wondering how other firms are addressing this issue.

I alos noted that we need to register the e-mail address once again (think it was a HMRC bulletin seen vua Accounting Web dated 19/06/06), which we have done.

Thanks for your comments.

HMRC & it's IT partners' competence well demonstrated (again)
I read earlier this week on another accountants website that HMRC have publicly stated that those who received coding notices by eMail in 2005/06 will NOT do so in 2006/07 unless they re-register their eMail address with HMRC !

Me neither!
This seems par for the course at the moment...

Although HMRC are sure they sent mail, it's disappeared into the ether of thier servers.

Fortunately I realised 2 out of the 4 members of staff who work here should have had alterations (changes to BIK) so I phoned the tax office and made them do a manual check on the codes. All 4 were wrong!

So glad I only do payroll for 4; 400 would have taken forever & really annoyed the lady on the other end of the line. She did chill out when she realised I was right though!

I suggest you give them a call with a couple of suspected errors & see where it takes you.

Good Luck
