payments without BACS

payments without BACS

Didn't find your answer?

We offer an payroll processing service to clients but have not set up our own BACS due to the initial costs. Some clients have expressed an interest in having their employees pay directly credited to their bank accounts. Does anyone else process payroll for clients and offer the facility to directly credit employees bank accounts without using BACS? If so I would like to hear your comments / suggestions

Internet banking
I have access to client's bank accounts. This enables me to have the employees set up as the beneficiaries on the internet banking and I input the amount to pay every month for each one. Maybe not practical for all clients, but you could provide the client with the list of payments for their admin staff to process if they didn't wish to provide access to the bank account. Clearly only practical if you have a smallish number of employees as well.

Fax
Most of the banks offer a service where you submit a fax to the processing centre and they credit the employees' accounts and debit the employer's account on the same day, e.g: NatWest Autopay, Lloyds Telepay, Barclays Payflow. The arrangement has to be set up by the client and you will get passwords to stick on the fax input form.
