I am helping out as our Payroll person is away sick and was wondering if anyone could help me with a leaver question regarding one of our clients:

We run a weekly payroll and our w/ending date is a saturday, before we start each new payroll we close down the previous weeks payroll.
Say we find out that a person left 3 weeks previous and we have since 'closed' down the payroll for those 2 weeks, will it affect the payroll even though they are on an hourly rate and therefore no monies were due for those 2 weeks?

It is working in a pub and they were fairly new and only worked less than 10 hours anyway.

Does it matter if they are input as at the present time, but with a leaving date of 3 weeks ago?

Completing the paper copy is fine, but just not sure how to approach it on the system.

Depends on software
David;

How you need to deal with this depends on the payroll software package you use - different packages will require different approaches.

Your best bet is to ring the helpdesk or customer support team at the software supplier and seek their advice.
