Payroll Software

Payroll Software

Didn't find your answer?

I am looking to recommend a payroll software system for a small limited company. This client currently uses Quickbooks for their accounts. Can anyone recommend a user friendly package that can cope with net to gross payments?
I am also keen to hear about a system that could be used for a payroll bureau facility.

My business has 24 employees and we have just signed up for staffpay.net. Well worth looking at and/or talking to. Very helpful.

Payroll software-small limited company
I endorse the views of Stephen Beck. We have used successfully Freeway PAYE-Master for own payroll and in a bureau. Copes with net to gross quickly, and the package is easy to use.
I can recommend it.

Payroll Software
Last April I started to use Sage Payroll for Windows 95. We are a small limited company with only 10 full time staff at the moment. Sage Payroll was relatively cheap, very easy to use even for someone with little payroll knowledge and, although I haven't processed a year end yet, it appears to provide all the facilities required to run a small payroll. Although I haven't had to use the helpdesk for payroll, I have used it for Sage Accounts, and they are always helpful and knowledgeable. I originally bought the version for up to 10 employees, but soon learnt that with one or two leavers and starters, it is wise to buy the next version. However, it was cheaper to buy the small version then upgrade than to buy the next version at the start.

TAS Pay or Access Payroll
Regarding the question from Miss Raj Multani " Can anyone recommend a software system that will cope with
payroll for a small limited company?"

TAS payroll which is now available in Windows format is a very sound solution. For a more complex package which contains Human Resources files the Access Payroll is excellent. For further details email Stephen Molden at [email protected] or call 0208-942-1046 or mobile 0370-396-270 I am based in Surrey but can advise UK wide.

Net to Gross
I can recommend QPay and QGold; both products from Qtac Solutions. Prices start at around £60 per annum. The first in its class in this sort of software and a previous winner of the Gee Payroll Award for the most innovative product; years before a number of other companies copied it with rival products.

Payroll software - net to gross
I've been using Qpay and Qtax for some time now and find it very user friendly. You can buy in at different levels and the reports are useful. It also allows you to delete back one employee's figures for one or more months and rework that employee(rather than having to re-run the complete payroll)- very useful in family-run businesses when a complete picture is not always available when the payroll is first run.

Considered these?
1) Have you checked out the QuickBooks payroll package which integrates into the accounting package. Costs currently £69 pa incl VAT. Follow this link http://www.quickbooks.co.uk.
2) Freeway Software. Payroll program specialists with over 10 years of experience in this field. Reputed to have around 20,000 users. PAYE-Master costs £149.99 pa incl VAT at their current prices. follow this link to find out more - http://www.freewaysoft.co.uk.
We have no practical experience of it but it is reputed to be good for bureau use.

Payroll Software
We have used Freeway Software PAYE-Master program for some 6 years in both DOS and Windows versions.

We operate a payroll bureau and have found this software excellent to use and on the rare occasions I have had to contact their support department have always had my question or query answered swiftly.

We would have no problem recommending the product.

Payroll
I would also be interested in changing my payroll software. The company I use at the moment is unfriendly and the support is inadequate. I would be wise not to mention the company.
