Superpay by computastore
We've been using this software for 15 years and have process about 150 client business per month.

Its still a DOS programme but works perfectly as you'd expect under wondows. It does everything we've ever asked of it and the support is second to non.

And very reasonably priced

Moneysoft
I have tried many and MONEYSOFT is the best.

It truly isnt worth wasting time with HMRC's freebie.

Moneysoft is cheap, really easy to use and does the job so quickly!

If very few clients - HMRC software??
Depends how many payroll clients you have and how many employees they have. What about HMRC free software?

I have only recently started a very small practice and I have only 2 payroll clients (each with 7 or less employees) plus my own payroll (just me!) and use HMRC software to calculate the tax and NI, then use an automated spreadsheet which prints payslips.

It is a bit more work than pressing the buttons on Sage Payroll (my only other experience of a payroll programme, which I quite like but is too expensive for me) but my largest payroll client is a charity which I do very cheaply, so I didn't want to pay out for software. If I got more payroll clients I'd move on to something life Moneysoft, which I did once have a brief look at and it looked pretty good.

Not Tas, Moneysoft
I bought one company 15 employee version of TAS last year (about £90). You can only use it for the company name registered and can't file online unless you pay another £90 for "support". (they don't tell you that when you're buying it!)

Moneysoft is much cheaper and just as easy to use, if not easier. And they deserve to do well - it's by far the best product on the market.

An online alternative
You might find an online service more convenient, as you don't need to keep upgrading the software.

We've recently reduced our prices for larger practices to £59 per month. This includes technical support and electronic submission of P35s and P14s.
