Payroll Software - Credit Where Credit is Due

Payroll Software - Credit Where Credit is Due

Didn't find your answer?

Moneysoft (www.moneysoft.co.uk)Payroll for Windows disk has just landed on my doorstep and it has some excellent features as standard including Draft Contract of Employment template already filled in with details from the individual staff record! It also allows you to print payslips using their own standard payslip on plain paper, use up old stocks of Sage payroll and also Freeway (of which I seem to have a whole heap of unused payslips)
I am very impressed with it - and I dont impress very easily. also keeps each period open until YOU decide to close it. Links with your Accounts prog as well, so that everything is done in a oner. Good PAYE reconciliation prog as well. No hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

Now Luke here, Les.
Mark my words, as this is gospel acc to John, Luke.
All the necessary info is on the Moneysoft website including blow up examples of various payslips etc.(just double click on the image) All explanations and helpful bits can be printed off there if you want.
Most folks are not so worried about completing the CIS forms as the actual calculation of it and Moneysoft allows you to print out a bona fide payslip, a facsimile of the CIS 25, an Employer's monthly and/or annual summary for P35 purposes, showing totals, deductions for materials and the tax paid. It also prints all the info for the P35 as laid out on the Rev. form and has an excellent PAYE payments reconciliation prog, which can be very useful if you have been previously on a manual system or you have been using oudated software. It handles weekly, 2-weekly, 4-weekly and monthly wages/salaries, you can have pics of the employee as ID cards and a number of other useful and thoughtful extras including a Net to Gross facility with a single click.
I accept that some things may be run of the mill, but it is the little extras that always make the difference. Single User licence for a year = £49.95. Multi employer with up to 100 employees and CIS sub-contractors each plus Employment Contracts = £99.95. That includes all support and downloadable upgrades for a full year. Notification of upgrades comes via email.
Maybe, given your response to my incoporation question and your own recent incorporation, what you should be focusing on (at 58) is Retirement Relief and heading north - I have just taken delivery of an excellent case of Highland Park 12 year old malt! LOL!

Thanks for your comments john to my reply and your other correspondent.

A while back you reckoned that this was the bees knees and you stated that it "even produces the Cis vouchers for you.

Like you I'm involved in many live payrolls each month.I use sage throughout but I thought I would contact Moneysoft and see what they could offer.

Their service was terrible. The guy at the end of the phone could not send out any leaflets on the subject and to cap it all they DO NOT produce the relevant Cis vouchers, save only on plain paper that you then have to copy onto the approved version.End of matter.

Please also see my response to your other item regarding incorporation.Perhaps the loflier is too strong up there over the border(rainbow).

Payroll comments
Les,
No,I am not on any commission form Moneysoft, but I deal with clients accounting and payroll needs every day; so I can readily differentiate between what is actually a value for money program and what purports to be one but is not.
Obviously your grouse is not as strong as mine or you are doling yourself out a short measure! LOL!

Andrew,
the email address is [email protected] and their web-site is www.moneysoft.co.uk. Tel:020 8743 9792 Fax: 020 8743 8073. I am surprised that they have not been in touch with you. I have found them to be very helpful indeed and I invariably speak to the man in charge of development, Mr Gavin McHamish.

This World is Not my Home...
An excellent answer, Mr Luke! That did bring a smile to my face right enough!

Just goes to show we never forget what we were taught in Sunday School all these years ago, whether by rote or otherwise!

Ah well, I have to relax now as I have (crazily) agreed to do a 28 mile sponsored walk this Saturday as my contribution to Christian Aid. From my home to cross over the Skye Bridge and back. Young 'uns are taking side bets that the 50 y-old (only just) will not make it, but refuse to do it themselves. "Oh that is far too far! etc."
All sponsorship greatly accepted at [email protected]. Thanks

the walk
Good news-I've made a Scotsman smile!I'll sponsor you for an English pound for each mile you complete.I'll send you an email later to get all the details and presumably you can claim tax relief on it as well.
Just remember not to stop at every hostelry and have a wee dram otherwise you'll be on your knees pretty quickly

Les Luke
