Penalty for late submission of P11d - is this still £100?

dbowleracca's picture

A client we recently acquired has a few companies, for which P11d's are due. This would normally be simple to resolve, but they have overdrawn directors loans which we do not have an accurate figure for and which will take a week or so to calculate.

As a result, P11ds will be filed late.

For some reason, I had it in my mind that the penalty was £300 per company per month, but having checked the HMRC guidance (which only covers late returns for 07/08!) the penalty is £100 (as there are less than 50 employees) per month.

can anyone confirm whether this penalty is still the same? It makes a big difference when there are a couple to do, i.e. it is either going to be £200 or £600!.

Your help, as always, much appreciated.

£100

Late filing penalty is £100 per month for late P11D(b).

19 July deadline?

As I understand it, as long as the return goes in by 19 July, there is no penalty. Can anyone confirm this? It seems to say this on the P11Db form 'Penalties are chargeable if your P11Db form is not submitted by 19 July'
