Personal Development

Personal Development

Didn't find your answer?

I am struggling to know what to do next with personal development, I am 40 years old,, passed CIMA 4 years ago and became a member and a few years prior to this gained an MBA in finance.

However I have always worked in small and medium sized enterprises (some at Director level) and currently work for a medium sized charity in rural Lincolnshire but have never used some of the bigger accountancy programs such as SAP.

I am now split between (a) becoming a CIMA member in practice, doing the CTA qualification whilst trying to get a little bit of practice experience on the side with the intention of becoming self employed in 2-3 years time or (b) completing a PHD in strategic management reporting (hopefully building some links with blue chip companies along the way) to either (i) become a lecturer (ii) self employed consultant (iii) secure a position with a larger company including the likes of the UN.

I look forward to hearing from you for your feedback on the above.

Stress Free Life
You would probably be better working in Morrisons as a beeper.

Less stressful and you get to deal with the public more.

PD
Only you know what your best skills are, what you enjoy doing the most, what your drivers are, what you want from your work and your life.

Once you decide that then your route to fulfillment will be clearer and you can decide accordingly.
