Pictures of Partners on Website

Pictures of Partners on Website

Didn't find your answer?

I am in the process of revamping my firm's website. I am personally very enthusiastic about including photographs of partners and senior team members with their profiles. However, one of my partners has expressed concern that these images may be useful to criminals planning ID theft.

I note that nearly all of the medium-sized firms still have photos on their websites.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is the risk real and unacceptable, or is it just an outside chance which is outwieghed by the business benefits of a personalised website?

What do everyone think?

Regards,

No problem
Why not just emulate O'Byrne & Kennedy's approach - still the best on the Web!

cruel to be kind
I think he's correct - if you're an ugly bunch then why advertise it? The typical sterile corporate photos won't do you any favours either (message = we have the brains but not the looks!). Get some hot models to pose for your website and you'll have loads of enquiries - although they may be disappointed later when they see that you actually look like Peter Beardsley.

Facebook
My daughter tells me that someone has lifted my photo from my firm's web site and it is being used on an opening page of Facebook that someone set up for members with the same family name so apparently it comes up every time someone searches the name!!!!

Shy maybe....
Fellowcraft that's so cruel...perhaps he's just shy!

Seriously I think the ID theft risk is a bit paranoid.

paranoia
he sounds like my mother in law who won't throw away old envelopes that have her name and address on them in case someone steals her identity!

ID Theft?
Personally, I wouldn't think that ID theft would be an issue. More likely that by extolling the virtues and talents of your team you'll prompt somebody to head hunt them!

Of course, that might influence who you do and do not put up! ;-)
