Practice Workflow Management

Practice Workflow Management

Didn't find your answer?

Does anyone use (and can recommend) some workflow management software which is a bit more sophisticated than a spreadsheet?

I need something on which to allocate jobs to staff when they come in and give an estimation of when they will be finished. This obviously needs to be flexible. I do not need time recording software as we do not keep timesheets.

project and job costing
Hi,
We use a package that allows you to create the workflow giving set points of completion.
This is part of our CRM system.
We also use a Project and Job costing package that allows us to change the end of project date.

Ultimately you need to decide of whther you want a full integrated system through to your accounts package, or the simpler route would be MS project.

A solution
SC,

We have a solution that enables us to manage 'resources'. We have clients who use this to manage multiple machine time for jobs, others who use it to manage people time. It is like having a wall chart, but you can view it in different ways "this person", "this job", "this month", etc. It is not really interested in time per se, merely to show how something is used and is it available next Tuesday PM. It is not a diary solution.

It is one part of our overall office system - email, contact database, diaries, etc - and although you could use it as a standalone packge, it offers more than Outlook, works over Terminal Services, etc, etc

If you are interested, drop us a line

Kind Regards

Quickbooks has project and time management software built-in to the higher end versions.
The management modules can be related to clients etc

project workflow
if a spreadsheet and outlook has gone far enough, many CRM's will do the next step. Allocation of staff, booking activities, calls, raising alarms when things are not done on time and holding all the documents and files involved with the client in "job bags".
Feel free to give me a brief call if you want to discuss this idea.
