Printing Powerpoint presentations for EE reading

Printing Powerpoint presentations for EE reading

Didn't find your answer?

Whe are using Microsoft Powerpoint to give presentaitons on next years budgets, which is working fine. Our problem starts when we want to print out a handout copy, which prints out the presenation but does not print the background designs. We have tried taking the Print background option off but it still prints out as it appears on screen. Can anyone help?

Where is your background?
Couple of things to check. If the background is applied to the master slide, this is different to applying it to the background of each individual slide. It looks the same but it's not!

Secondly, have you set up the handout master to be different from the slide master. Look at View/Master/Handout Master.

And finally, it's not clear if you are using the handout option at all. Are you simply wanting to print the slides on paper? Do you want the backgrounds on or off?

Print options - check?
I'm not sure from your post if you have done this, but the print option in Powerpoint has additional choices about what to print - called "Print what" - slides, handouts, notes, etc. Maybe one of these options will give you what you want?

Possible work-around
It may be worth checking to see if the background has been made part of the Slide Master. (View,Master,Slide Master from the menu). If so delete the background image from the master, return to Normal view (View, Normal) then save a temporary copy under another filename(File, Save As). Try printing from this temporary version to see if the result is what you want.
