Private school fees

Private school fees

Didn't find your answer?

A client has phoned me this morning. He is sending his daughter to a private school. He thinks that there is a tax benefit in doing this as he is taking his child out of state education.

Does anyone have any further details?

Oh if only!
I can't say for sure, but it looks to me like wishful thinking. However, I would love to extend this admirable concept:

I haven't used an NHS doctor or hospital for many years - can I have some NIC back please?

I have a list of counties and towns I never visit: can I have a refund of my tax to represent the proportion which goes towards local authority rate support grants for those places?

Also, since I have no children, and will therefore never need to use state education, can I get an even bigger tax rebate than your client thinks he's getting?
