Has any user of ACCANET email had problems with their user ID recently?
Accanet email address have become 'invalid' after the service providers Cable & Wireless 'ran a script which deleted all accounts which hadn't used their dial up software in the last 90 days.' As we have used ADSL for some time this removed ours and C&W have been unable to restore service.

As C&W charge £1 a minute for their helpline, which doesn't seem to be able to help, nor does ACCA who referred us back to them, does anyone know how we can retrieve email lost out there in cyberspace.

Aha! Suddenly it all becomes clear.
I too have been unable to access my accanet account and despite assurances from the help desk that the problem should now have been resolved I still can't retrieve mail. I too use broadband to connect.

Sorry I don't have a solution for retrieving the lost mail. I just thought it useful to know that I wasn't the only one with this problem.

It's staggering to learn that it didn't occur to C&W that some people might have moved on from a dial up connection.
