Problems with Moneysoft Payroll manager 100

Problems with Moneysoft Payroll manager 100

Didn't find your answer?

I'm trying to download Payroll Manager 100 on to my new laptop - I already have a licence. I keep getting an error message "waiting for cache" or "waiting for www.moneysoft.co.uk" but nothing else happens. I've tried on two different laptops. I've spoken to Moneysoft support who can't help because the problem could be "anywhere" along the chain and they are not aware of any problems at their end. They've suggested its my internet provider BT but I'm on broadband and have never had any problems before and I can get on to the usual sites, HMRC, Co House etc. They've suggested I try another internet provider but I don't have access to one. I'm using Windows XP Can anyone out there suggest what the problem is? I can't go back to my old computer - its bust.

Cache...

Try clearing your cache on Internet Explorer.

Ask Moneysoft again

I'd try calling Moneysoft back and hope you speak to helpful support staff. One person who works there must be one of THE most miserable individuals to ever man a support line, and is I suspect the one who has given you the response you got. The others are super and will I am sure sort this issue for you.

Downloading Moneysoft

Although I did have a problem using Firefox for the last couple of updates, I tried then Internet Explorer, using which they downloaded and updated smoothly, so I think the problem does not lies with Moneysoft. I have always found them helpful, and a relief to deal with in comparison other software suppliers.

Don't use Mozilla Firefox

Some time ago I was also using Firefox and had problems. Using Internet Explorer instead solved it. I now use Google Chrome and downloaded the Moneysoft Payroll update with no problems whatsoever. If your IE cache is getting full (as it does) and you have to clean it (as suggested above), why not install a program to automatically clean it on a regular basis?

When I visit clients and use their computers, I am amazed how many do not do any regular "housekeeping" (just like dusting and vacuuming!). They think the PC is slow because it is old however the problems usually lies with having too many cookies and the cache being full amongst other clutter on the machine.

Once when cleaning up a client's PC, I came across some very dodgy (and [***]) cookies indicating that someone had been surfing the internet in work time. Once we had established that the MD and his wife had been on holiday during that time (!?), the (male) office worker was interviewed and summarily dismissed - and yes, we did have to keep a copy of what I had found for a time in case a case of unfair dismissal arose.

Nothing wrong with Firefox

I have just downloaded an update (admittedly, not the full program) today using Firefox with no problems.  It is usually Internet Explorer which has the problems (saving encrypted files to disk, etc.)
