a public TAX identification number

a public TAX identification number

Didn't find your answer?

Hi

Has anyone heard of a public TAX identification number?

I've had 2 clients now ask for my help in getting this number, both of them coming from Eastern/Central Europe.

A Google search doesn't seem to be giving me any answers.

Thanks

Tim

Maybe try a VAT Registration Number?

Hi Tim,

In a previous life I recall some of our overseas customers requesting something similar from us when setting up a credit account. Offering our VAT registration number (and/or company registration number) seemed to do the trick.

Regards,

Gary

Could it be a US thing?

The US IRS issues TINs - could this be what they are thinking of? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxpayer_Identification_Number

EORI number

The EEC has EORI numbers

That may be what they are looking for if there is no VAT number
