New personal service company client been trading for a year.
Turns out his company has reimbursed him some expenses in the year (all allowable), but it hasn't filed the P11D and P11D(b).
If the company files today what fixed automatic penalties will it be liable to? I have read somewhere that HMRC will not raise penalties if the P11D(b) is filed by 19th July.
Thanks.

2014/15 forms P11D and P11D(b) not filed yet
Yes. HMRC Twitter feed is saying filing deadline is extended to 19 July. Get a screenshot then stick it to them if they try charging a penalty.
To be honest I would think about not filing if HMRC have not been told they are due.
If no tax at stake & HMRC reviewed they would just tell the client to do a dispensation, which from April 16 will pretty much be abolished. In all my years I have not seen a penalty for reimbursed exps missing from a P11D, only where there is tax/NIC stake
But if you are doing them the 19 July applies to all.
CWG5 also confirms this if you have a look page 21.
I have appealed against a penalty before for a late P11D sent after 6 July and before 19 July and it was accepted.
I can not readily find anything but have never had issues in the past with 19 deadline.
HMRC announced an extension to the deadline via the twitter feed at 3.40am on 10 July - they extended it to 19th July. BUT on being pressed they say the deadline has remained at 6th July despite what they said earlier.
Amazing - but great grounds for appeal if necessary.
Digital signing of Letters of Engagement
We have a brand new shiny Portal which lets us have Tax Returns signed digitally. And a few questions arise - one being, is it acceptable/legal for a letter of engagement to be signed via the portal - with a digital signature - or, must every engagement letter bear the client's wet signature? Any experience or advice would be gratefully received.
