AAT Qualification

AAT Qualification

Didn't find your answer?

Morning everyone!

Just a question about the AAT.

I know they've got level 2 (and maybe level 1?) but most people tend to start at level 3 and then proceed to level 4.

Instead, can you just complete at level 4 and then go for MAAT?

Thanks

I don't think you can just jump straight in at Level 4.

Like any other professional qualifications, they have exemptions.

See here. https://www.aat.org.uk/sites/default/files/assets/Exemptions-for-AAT-Accounting-Qualification-AQ2013.pdf

I thought that but when looking at https://www.aat.org.uk/qualifications/level-4-aat-accounting-qualification - it doesn't state you need to have done level 3?

You can also get exemptions for level 2 but I know for a fact you don't actually need to do that one at all.

Not sure then. Give them a call, they have been very helpful for the few occasions I have called them.

I know you work in tax, and I would think some of the units at level 3 would be worth you sitting such as Cost & Revenues, Accounts Prep 1 & 2 and Cash Management.

It would certainly equip you for the level 4 qualification as most of it follows on from level 3.

Cheers dude I'll give them a ring.

Was just thinking that when ATT is done I might do AAT before ACA/ACCA.

I'd like to take a bit of a gap before doing chartered so thought maybe it'd be worth doing the last year of AAT as a 'refresher.'

It shouldn't take too long to do the final 2 stages of AAT - and would get you further exemptions from the chartered bodies.

If you PM me your email address, I can email some level 3 / 4 material if you want?

Thanks! I'll message you now.

That's what I was thinking - exemptions!
