ACCA?

ACCA?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi,

I have just completed my AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accountancy and now I am looking into furthering my studies with an ACCA status as an accountant.

I work as a Legal Cashier for a firm of solicitors, who don't pay for studies and any time off to study would be limited.

In the long run I want a small accountancy practice, but with ACCA status on my CV, I can review my options after my studies as complete.

I have no seniors at work or anyone that I can look up to or ask for advice as I am the only financial staff member and the only staff member that holds any sort of accounting qualification.

I am not looking to move jobs as I have a solid foundation to start from and is something I want to do in my spare time.

What is the best way of going about achieving ACCA status? Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

To have an accountancy practice ...

... as an ACCA firm you will need to get a practicing certificate, regardless of how well you pass the exams, to get this you have to have certified relevant experience which is something like 3 years, of which two are after you have passed your finals.

You cannot be a memeber of ACCA and do any more than book-keeping to TB unless you have a practicing certificate.

I would suggest you contact ACCA and talk it through with them.
