AWeb drinks

AWeb drinks

Didn't find your answer?

With lots of AWebers in London for Accountex, several of us thought it would be great opportunity for a get together.

We will be meeting from 6pm after the first day of Accountex (Wednesday 11 May) at Canary Wharf as that area of London is fairly close to Accountex but also easy for people to get to from other parts of London.

We will meet at the Slug & Lettuce (just across from the main Canary Wharf tube station entrance) 30 S Colonnade, London, E14 4QQ, which serves both food and drinks.

All are welcome, whether attending Accountex or not.

Slug & Lettuce

I went to a Burger & Lobster the other day. They had a limited menu. You could have burger or lobster or both.

I do hope that isn't how a Slug & Lettuce works.

Not according to their menu

Not according to their menu. Does that mean you'll be there?

If anyone fancies meeting up is there not some pubs near Excel as my hotel is next door.

Lazy

It's a train-ride away. No need even to change trains. In fact it's so near, if you're not there, we can come and drag you out of your hotel.

Sorry didn't mean to be lazy, but you need to remember I live in city where you can walk from one side to the other in 15 minutes.

I just thought there was a decent section of bars near the excel as had a few drinks there last year.

I'm easy (so they say) and will be guided by those with local knowledge.

What a good idea

Glennzy wrote:

Instead of meeting at Canary Wharf which is near you we could come to you and then we could do a tour of where everybody else lives. That would mean they wouldn't have to make any effort at all.

Sorry for my ignorance but I maybe come to London for 2 or 3 meetings in a year and literally go form train station to meeting then back to train station.

But always suprised how long it takes to go short distances.

What's that? Money behind the bar? Blimey!

(Psst) ... I have been told by our benevolent publisher that we will put some money behind the bar (...as long as you all come to our Accountex stand and say hello).

Like last week's!!

Hope you all enjoy your trip-the furthest I get to go in the next few weeks is to Sunderland, as that is them playing Chelsea (I think) we may have no fingernails by the end of the match.

Never mind your fingernails, you will probably be missing wheels of your car if you park it in Sunderland.

We always find it afterwards but maybe it helps that it is ancient. This is more than I can say for Newcastle- went to see the Rolling Stones there (St James) in circa 1982, came out could not find car, walked up and down endless streets (which all looked the same) until we eventually stumbled over where I must have parked it; should never have had that Newcastle Brown before the concert.

I have a predicament.

Do I visit the Accounting Web team to annoy them, or to claim my free beer?

@Cheeky

You have to do both surely, annoy them as you drink the free beer.

I believe thats commonly known as a "win win" situation these days.

I have a feeling that more annoyance cause by me might lead to a longer holiday.

Don't get me wrong, everyone loves a holiday, but having to re-register every 5 minutes was becoming burdensome.
