Accounts prep software & FRS 102

Accounts prep software & FRS 102

Didn't find your answer?

Hi there,

I was wondering if you can help. I am contemplating starting to use an accounts preparation software for my small practice as opposed to microsoft word/changing documents manually.

When looking through the internet, and particularly this forum I have noticed a lot of praise for the program 'taxfiler'. Having played around on the demo I noticed that there are no mentions of setting up companies using the new FRS 102 accounting standards.

I was wondering if there are any programs similar to this which are upto date and can be recommended, and for anyone who is currently using 'taxfiler' how are they getting around the accounting standard changes for newer year ends.

Also, a bit off topic, but am I correct in thinking that companies house are currently unavailable to accept filings for the new FRS 102, and if so how is everyone managing to file their accounts?

Thanks in advance!

I understand that Taxfiler are currently testing their FRS 102 update and will be releasing it shortly, though I believe that you are correct Companies House will still not accept FRS 102 accounts online at this time. Accounts that need filing now will generally be OK using the FRSSE or the ME regime.

Going by many of the comments I read on Aweb it appears that other providers rushed out their FRS 102 updates too soon and have not done a good job of it. I suspect that all providers who don't yet have it available will do soon.
