I concur I use HMRC for 90% of personal returns but TAXFILER for all partnership trust and company returns

Iris?

Iris is well integrated, but I would not call it cheap!

I've never used VT but it seems to have a rabid following on Aweb.

My standard answer

Keytime. Excellent and a good compromise between integration and cost

Viztopia

Totally and utterly different. I don't think Viztopia exists any more?

Yes very different.

Viztopia was a Windows app, (originally by Viztopia Software, then acquired by MICL, then by MYOB and ultimately by CCH where I believe it has now been replaced by CCH Accounts Production).

VT (from VT Software) is an excel-based tool that comes highly recommended.

It's a common misconception that that the two are related but they are entirely different - there is even a sentence to that effect somewhere on the VT software website.

TaxCalc Pro is integrated  and reasonably priced and has unlimited returns. All the prices for their products can be clearly seen on their website unlike some I could mention.

VT & Taxfiler

VT is a no brainer.

Taxfiler is amazing for the price, and it seems to get a new enhancement on a weekly basis. The best part is that you don't have to buy personal, partnership and company tax returns separately.

Agree with ShirleyM
Low cost and flexibility: VT for accounts and Taxfiler ...because there is too much HMRC freeware can't handle.

For tax, I need coverage for long CT600s and double tax relief, individual's trust pages etc so was forced to move on from HMRC free software. For £10-15 plus VAT per month, I enjoy a cloud offering and not being constrained by x number of corporates, y number of partnerships and z number of personal returns which has been the market staple.
