Accounts in 'Word' from VT

Accounts in 'Word' from VT

Didn't find your answer?

I am in industry, but we produce our stat accounts in house for various reasons. The auditor would like word versions. I use VT to prepare the accounts.

Can VT output as a word document?

(lets leave aside any iXBRL considerations for now..)

Many thanks

Tom

Excel to pdf to Word

All I can think of is to print the accounts to pdf and then use a pdf to Word converter (search the web for some free web based services).

Why do they want the accounts in Word?  Unless I am missing something it can only be because they want to be able to process amendments without reference to you.  Nothing wrong with that if it fits in with your way of working with the auditors.  But if you want to keep control of the accounts production process, and only to make changes after they have been proposed to and agreed by you, you wouldn't want to let them have Word accounts, even if it was easy to produce them!

Late stage in the game,

Hi John,

We are at a late stage in the game, with filing due by next Monday. The amendments are being agreed by auditors on both sides of the Atlantic, and are more of a textual rather than numeric nature at this time.

I used a subscription product from Adobe in the end, which has done the job quite well.

Thanks again,

Tom
