Advice on setting up UK Holding Company

Advice on setting up UK Holding Company

Didn't find your answer?

Hi All,

Apologies if this is the wrong place to be posting this question.

I'm a UK Citizen, back living in the UK permanently now after living in Canada between 2008-2012.  Whilst in Canada I formed a company which I still have a 40% stake in.

The company will be in a position in the next few years where it will start to pay out significant shareholder dividends and I think the best route for me, now that I am back in the UK is to transfer my ownership to a UK holding company.  It probably makes the most sense for the long haul as I'm also likely to get involved in some other business opportunities too.

Can any of the Accounting Web folk recommend a reputable accounting firm that could help me through this process and give me some practical advice (the pros and the cons).  If anyone has been through a similar process and has good reports about particular firms that would be great.

I live in the North East, but I don't suppose it really matters where the firm is based.

I thought it wouldn't be long before someone couldn't resist recommending themselves.

To the OP:

Best of luck in your search for an accountant to advise.  Frankly this site is probably not the best place to come looking for recommendations to accountants.  Human nature explains why people will be reluctant to recommend competitors - which leaves only self-recommendation, which is against the rules of the site.

The best course is to seek personal recommendations from friends, family, business acquaintances etc.

Hmmmm....

I would simply comment that I have previously seen plenty of answers to queries on this site along the lines of my response above.
