Associate Dentist SD86 much higher than deductions

Associate Dentist SD86 much higher than deductions

Didn't find your answer?

I have an Associate Dentist that has £4000 worth of EE on her SD86 but only £1000 of deductions by her practice (the shortfall they are now deducting in 15/16). I was under the impression that the paid/deducted figure should strictly be used rather than the Certificate figure. Is this correct?

I'm afraid so.... it sounds like the payments on account were too low and when the annual reconciliation was completed £3,000 was deemed to have been due.

This often ends up in the next year. i.e. when physically paid/deducted.

Incidentally, if it was a 14/15 pension refund received after 05/04/2015, HMRC require you to declare that in the tax year that it relates too, i.e. 2014/15.

Cake and eat it anyone?
