Audit Only Service Needed

Audit Only Service Needed

Didn't find your answer?

I have two clients who it looks like will shortly need an audit and as a CIMA accountant I prepare the accounts but do not audit them. One is because of their turnover, and one because of stakeholder requirements. As I work with both these clients throughout the year I am not looking to lose them and want someone who can assist with the audit side of things only taking the accounts I have prepared and providing the audit opinion. Geographically I am in Berks/Bucks. Anyone know of a practice willing to audit without taking the rest of the job?

Can I suggest
When this happened to us we invited a number of firms in for interview without the client present to see what the costs are and whether we could work with them. It worked well, after all It is your client.

What is right for client

Problem is to do an audit you have to do almost as much work as preparing the accounts so the client could end up paying more than if he went to an audit firm for whole job.

Maybe best to settle that you go to trial balance stage.

Try an audit only practice

Using an audit only practice removes any risk of you losing the client.

There are now a few of these firms around the country.  I have heard very good things about a firm called Just Audit, based in Nottingham.  Not exactly your geographically location but might be worth a call.

Yes

We perform this role for a few firms who have given up their audit licence. Happy to provide references if required as to non client poaching (and service levels of course). We're in Hertfordshire. I'd better just check, when you say an audit is required because of turnover level I assume one of the gross assets/no of employees limits is also breached? Please drop me a PM with your number if you'd like to have a chat in a bit more detail.

Would be interested to discuss this with you further

I too also do this for other accountants and can give assurance and references on non-poaching. I also have  the situation where 'the boot is on the other foot' in that I have a client where as part of my overall yearly service I prepare the accounts for auditors due to family/independence issues. Let me have contact details and I will call you if this is of interest.

Mob 07535758691 if you wish to call me direct.
