Reported?

There is a report link on every post to alert AWeb to a problem. Have you done that? Because that points them directly to the problem whereas this post gives no indication of where to look.

EDIT : I see you mean the blog section as a whole (though that is made up of many indvidual blogs, hence my belief your use of the singular didn't indicate anywhere specific). Using the report link, as I have just done, is still the best way to alert AWeb to the problem.

Reporting doesn't do a thing.

I have been threatened with my face being smashed in - member and posts still active.

I've been threatened to be shot - same member under different ID and their posts still active.

I found a solution though. I've asked for my account to be deleted as I no longer wish to be a member of a site that doesn't do anything to safeguard its members.

I tried this also - I keep checking back to see if I've finally been removed.

Apparently, I'm still here

That's really grim - particularly if it affects you in your 'real' life - hope aweb find a way to sort this / enable all the good users to stay.

Need to increase punishment for these Hackers

last week my printer had packed up so went to PC world to get another only to find my card declined. On calling the bank some T%at had cleaned my account out.

Should increase the sentence for computer crime to a mandatory life sentence or at the very least the purpertrators should be lined up against a wall and the victims be allowed to run up and give them a massive kick in the Bollox.

Well thank goodness for the printer packing up.  Goodness knows how long it would have gone on otherwise! Hurrah for ever shortening MTBF's, that what I say!

Oh I see.

I attract a boring thief though they managed to use my card details at an on line garden centre

in Bristol and Selfridges.

I would more respect for these crooks had they smoked my card up on something worthwhile like a night in China Whites.

Acronyms

Spoke to a chap last week who said his printer was Fubar.  Mine is Samsung I replied. Apparently I had missed the point . . .

Out of hours

One particular blog was removed overnight (ie. out of normal working hours), so it would appear that the mods do check for reports occasionally. Maybe nobody has bothered to send a report.

Escalation

It has definitely escalated overnight. Given the site is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, I wonder if there is a plan to police it more thoroughly to prevent these things. It does seem that anything posted late Friday doesn't get addressed until the following Monday.

Comments also seem to be disabled on all blogs, whether spam or legitimate.

The blog that was removed overnight ...

... was a members blog, not spam, so it would appear that the mods can act overnight when it suits them (or particular members).

Spam.

Thank you to the moderators of this great site that probably clear up more spam than we ever see, before we spot it.
