Hi all
I am a sole trader who likes to look after my own accounts mainly because I like to do them(!).
Now and again I get stuck or I just need to be told I’m on the right path and I've often used accounting web without registering and asking any questions. So here is my first -
I am now branching out with my digital items (such as e-books) and will be supplying a company in Spain with my items who will then sell them on.
I am VAT registered and so is the company in Spain. Am I right in thinking that the point of supply (since it’s B2B) is Spain and that the company in Spain will charge VAT which will have nothing to do with me? In effect, with the point of supply not in the UK, this takes me outside the scope of UK vat?
Regards
Ralph

B2B Digital Supplies
You are correct. You need your Spanish customer's VAT number on your invoices, and you need to complete an EC Sales List.
just in case
Even though outside the scope, the sale still appears in box 6 of your return
