Bank accounts for limited companies

Bank accounts for limited companies

Didn't find your answer?

I am wondering if others are finding it difficult for new limited companies to open a bank account. We have a client who has been told that he cannot have an appointment for three weeks, and it will be a further three weeks to get the account opened. It's not the first time we have seen this sort of delay, and with more than one of the naff four.

Business bank accounts
I had a client who recently opened an account within a few days with the local nat west branch. They did have to wait a couple of weeks though for a card reader so they could make online payments.

I have heard Metro bank should be quick, but no direct experience of it. They advertise that you can walk in and open an account there and then as long as you don't need an overdraft

Business bank accounts

Banks do seem to be generally very slow.  I had one client with Lloyds that walked into his branch one day, asked for a business account and walked out with the account number on the same day.  Another client with Lloyds waited 6 months for it to be processed because the business account manager was off sick!

Yes try Metro Bank

Metro bank is independant and branches are opening fast across the south of England.  Each branch is open 7 dayas a week from 7 am. Very quick, very helpful, as long as you are UK resident. Switching service takes 9 working days, and monies sent to the old account will be transferred to the new Metro account for 18 months!
