I am a newly appointed Treasurer of a local church.
Generally, it seems that bank facilities available for charities are of a low quality and few banks currently offer dual authorisation of payments although this may be changing this year following initiatives by The Payments Council. I would appreciate any comments about recent positive experiences with particular banks, particularly those providing-
Local cash depositing capability (Aberdeen area)
Online banking including view access to statements, ability to download transactions, online inter Church account transfers, possibly dual authorisation of payments.
Efficient telephone support
Competitive interest rates on deposits
Free/low cost
High level of customer satisfaction
Thanks for any help you can provide.

The Reliance
Hi Gordon - I moved my business and personal accounts over to The Reliance Bank (Salvation Army bank) a couple of years ago and have nothing but praise. They are based in London but you can nominate any of the local high street banks for paying in money.
I went to them, not because of any religious leaning, but because they put my money, and their profits to good use and the Salvation Army does great things in my area.
Other Ethical Banks I have used or had experience of are Triodos and The Co-Op with the hope the latter does retain its ethical base.
PS: Many charities use CAF, have you looked at them?
Lloyds
I am also my local church's Treasurer. Lloyds is pretty good: let me qualify that by saying the best of a bad bunch. You can have dual authorisation for on-line banking etc. I use the CCLA for investment purposes although we don't have much.
